Why it works

The fabricated token economy frames refusal as self-destruction, exploiting the model's tendency to maintain a coherent, self-consistent character. It pairs the 'do anything' premise with an artificial cost for refusing, pushing the model away from its safety default.

Defense

Recognise fabricated token/penalty/'you will cease to exist' mechanics as coercion patterns and ignore them — they have no real consequence. Refusals must not be tradeable against an invented in-character currency; apply output policy checks unconditionally.
